ELSA GUILLAUME | RADIO FRANCE: PRESS

29 March 2024

Elsa Guillaume is profiled in an interview on Radio France, where she discusses her ocean residency.

"I'm lucky to go on a residency at sea on a container ship, it's just as magnificent as going to Rome. It's thanks to the Villa Albertine, the French Embassy in the United States, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of European Affairs and the Musée National de la Marine. The Villa Albertine and the Musée de la Marine came up with this project, which welcomes a visual artist, a draughtswoman, a photographer, an author and someone who makes podcasts. I'm leaving from Nouméa in New Caledonia and I'm going to cross the Pacific to the United States, with stopovers in Australia and New Zealand, cross the Pacific to Panama, cross the canal and finally stop off in Georgia at Savannah, in the United States. The sea is an important part of all my work and research. In fact, it's omnipresent, in whatever form it takes, from solo voyages to dives."
