Creating her works in harmony with a place or a theme, Geneviève Levivier develops a dialogue between her work, architecture, nature and natural light, inspired by the notion of synesthesia.
Geneviève Levivier's mixed-media works, like her site-specific installations, echo the wild and poetic aspects of nature, creating a tangible yet uncertain, abstract trace. The transfiguration of organic materials, at the heart of her artistic reflection, carries the doubt between what is given to see and what is perceived. Shadows play with ever-changing light in the intertwining colors and depth of materials. Luminescence, essential to our current work, induces a boundless world that delights the senses with the strangeness of its boundaries. In this space-time, at once frozen and totally open, the viewer's gaze is a component in its own right. He projects his inner world into it, just as he escapes through contemplation, forgetting himself in the infinite meanders of a transfigured nature.
