HELL'O Belgian, b. 1980 & 1982

Overview
Hell’O's artistic universe explores the boundaries between man and nature, highlighting the complex and sometimes ambiguous interactions between human beings and their environment.

Hell'O is an artist duo that has been based in Brussels since its creation in 2008. Founded by Jérôme Meynen, born in 1982, and Antoine Detaille, born in 1980, the multidisciplinary collective’s artistic practice, which spans painting, drawing, murals, graphic design, etc, is characterised by a unique style in which the figurative and the abstract blend harmoniously, creating visually singular works.

Hell’O’s artistic universe explores the boundaries between man and nature, highlighting the complex and sometimes ambiguous interactions between human beings and their environment. This fusion is portrayed allegorically through characters with anthropomorphic features and surreal landscapes, creating a visual aesthetic that is both striking and introspective.

Since its inception, the members of Hell'O have developed a collaborative approach where each work is created by four hands, allowing for an unparalleled creative integration of each other's artistic visions. Their close collaboration results in complex and dynamic compositions, where elements intertwine to create visual stories rich in symbolism and with multiple readings.

Hell'O creates paintings that capture the essence of their singular aesthetic, earning them international recognition for their contribution to contemporary art. The duo have exhibited and collaborated with a number of museums including BOZAR, MIMA and the Musée Félicien Rops. They have taken part in international urban art festivals such as Art Habite la Ville in Mons, Belgium, Asalto in Zaragoza, Spain, and Nuits Carrées in Antibes, among others. They have also exhibited in international galleries and collaborated with major private companies.
